To all you people in the tri-cities/back home area...you might wanna read this...
Tri-Cities will launch a 30-day speeding ticket frenzy on July 31
2005.
>>> The state of Tennessee estimates that 9 million dollars will be
>>> generated in speeding tickets. 1 million will go to pay state
troopers
>>> overtime. There will be 57 state troopers on duty at all times
>>> patrolling.
>>>
>>> They are the following:
>>> I-81 north and south
>>> 1-26 north and south
>>> 1-40 east and west
>>>
>>> Now 5 mph above the limit can justify a ticket and every state
trooper
>>> is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 minutes.
They
>>> have issued 30 brand new unmarked Crown Victoria cruisers and they
are
>>> bringing all their part timers on full time. I was told 101.5 FM
>>> confirmed all of this.
>>>
>>> So be safe and don't forget speeding tickets are on you.
>>>
>>> You've been warned

Wow
Wow that's interesting.. They have done enforcement days over here where Jason and the other troopers had to write a bunch of speeding tickets or do extra checking details (road checks) or they do ALOT of DUI check points.. Writing a ticket every 10 minutes, that's amazing! I would be interested to see those guys stats for tickets at the end of that day! 5 mph over the speed limit, geez, I know they are "suppose" to write 5-10 over anyway but most of them never do until over 10 mph over or atleast that's the way they are over here.. sheesh I'm glad I'll not be going down there to visit during that day, I have a heavy foot. hehe.People better be careful, but I know these days do produce good results as far as making the roads safer, I guess that's what matters.. hehe.. Thanks for the info even though it doesnt affect me, it's something interesting I'll have to share with my hubby.. Take care..Mandy

Re: Wow
Yeah we are going back home Saturday and I'm driving which is actually better than James driving because he goes way to fast, especially on 81 but I tend to go fast also...I just wonder how far up 81 this is going to go...We will be ok if it's from like Marion down cause we get off in Abington but if it's from whythville down it will slow us down A LOT...I guess for the first time I'll have to use my cruise!July 27 2005, 18:34:45 UTC 6 years ago
Re: Wow
Is it even going to be in Virginia? I know it said the tri-cities, but it's the Tennessee State Troopers. Just a thought!Thanks for the advice! Traveling in for a wedding this weekend too!! And 40 is in Knoxville... So it looks like all east TN.
Im going to forward this to work to see what they can find out! So I'll let you know if we can find any truths to this as well!!

It is not so much that he drives fast..but he usually drives all over the road. I guess I will be doing the driving for awhile. He doesn't need another ticket. He already has an SR22, so you know what I mean?!?
Thanks for letting me know!
